Atlanta’s growing reputation as a tech hub is attracting international companies looking to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to drive innovation and enhance their capabilities. It is also attracting software developers from around the world who can create the advanced solutions that these international businesses rely on.

Argentina–based Quadion Technologies is one such software developer that is strategically aligning with Atlanta’s booming tech ecosystem and is embracing AI to better serve its global clients, including giants like Fidelity Information Services (FIS) and Turner Broadcasting

consultants, who are assisting Quadion and other international businesses in their U.S. expansion, recognize the importance of AI in companies’ strategies while helping them integrate into the Atlanta tech community.

Events like Atlanta AI Week, taking place April 22-24 at Atlanta Tech Village, are helping companies showcase their AI-driven innovations and connect with potential clients and partners.

Hosted by Enterprise Technology Association and community partners, Atlanta AI Week will explore the future of AI in the greater Atlanta area, offering conference sessions and networking opportunities with the region’s burgeoning tech ecosystem.

Preparing for the Future of AI in Software Development

Beverly Wright, VP of Data Science & AI for Wavicle Data Solutions and Chair of the Technology Association of Georgia’s Data Science and AI Society, observes that the role of developers in the AI era is evolving. They are combining their technical expertise with knowledge of the best ways to leverage AI.

“Smart organizations are embracing a complementary relationship with AI – to gain scale and speed. Developers are instead evolving into strategic orchestrators who direct AI capabilities toward solving complex problems,” she says. “The most valuable teams will combine domain expertise with AI knowledge, creating solutions neither could achieve alone.”

Asad Musa, Vice President of Digital Transformations

Asad Musa, Vice President of Digital Transformations at Innova Solutions, agrees, noting that rather than spending hours on routine coding, software developers are becoming “orchestrators” who guide AI-powered platforms to help meet business objectives.

Mr. Musa points out that the new skill set required to thrive in this evolving landscape includes AI fluency, proficiency in AI-augmented development environments and expertise in architectural design for AI-integrated systems. Ethical AI implementation and a culture of adaptive learning are also critical for staying competitive, he says.

These sentiments resonate with Quadion’s approach to AI, says Javier Delgado, the company’s CEO.

While they are not AI specialists, Mr. Delgado believes in the importance of embracing AI for the future of the business.

He says the company has been experimenting with AI tools like GitHub‘s Copilot for a few years, which has been a “game-changer” in terms of speeding up development. But he acknowledges that AI models make mistakes, sometimes big ones.

“Developers still need to be critical thinkers. They must be able to understand what the client needs and guide AI to provide accurate results,” he says.

AI as a Tool for Nearshoring Success

Connecting with Atlanta’s technology ecosystem is an important way for international companies to establish their expertise and promote their nearshoring capabilities.

We encourage foreign-based tech companies to attend events like TAG’s upcoming Georgia Technology Summit on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Woodruff Arts Center, where 1,200 technology, business and thought leaders will connect local leaders with global tech innovators.

Quadion, for example, will utilize this and other Atlanta events to get the word out about its nearshoring model, which involves software developers based in South America developing bespoke applications for U.S. companies.

With 70% of its clients located in the U.S., including major Atlanta-based corporations, the company has become a go-to provider for customized, niche applications across sectors such as fintech, healthcare and others. Its core strength lies in delivering tailor-made solutions that meet the unique needs of each client, with each developer working on one project at a time as part of the client’s team for the duration of the project. The rise of AI has enabled Quadion teams to do this work more efficiently.

“AI helps us internally by expediting the coding process, minimizing errors and improving collaboration. It’s especially useful for senior developers who now work faster and more accurately,” says Mr. Delgado.

However, he also recognizes AI’s challenges for junior developers in his company and in general. He notes that the increased reliance on AI tools can hinder less-experienced developers from fully learning from their mistakes.

“AI often corrects code errors automatically, which means junior developers may not always understand the root cause of the problem,” he explains. “This can slow their growth in developing the critical problem-solving skills needed in the long run.”

Still, AI enables developers to innovate faster and more precisely. By analyzing vast amounts of data, AI can assist in creating more sophisticated and adaptable software that responds to client-specific needs.

AI Innovation to Drive Global Business Expansion in Atlanta

In addition to transforming software development, AI will have broad implications for the future of every industry, Sandra Jordan, Chief of Staff at the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, noted during a recent discussion at the 15th annual USA India Business Summit

“Developers still need to be critical thinkers. They must be able to understand what the client needs and guide AI to provide accurate results.”

QUADION CEO JAVIER DELGADO

“There will be displaced jobs, there will be change, just like with the Industrial Revolution,” Dr. Jordan remarked. “We can already see it coming. So, the question is, how do countries prepare to retrain and retool their citizens to move forward?”

The future of software developers and other tech companies will be shaped by AI. The challenge lies in balancing the efficiency and innovation that AI brings with the need for human expertise and adaptability.

“AI is helping us do our jobs better, but we also need to ensure that our teams continue to grow and evolve. Flexibility and critical thinking will be key as we move forward,” Mr. Delgado asserts.

With the support of the Pendleton Group, Quadion and other international companies will be well-positioned to work with Atlanta’s tech community to lead AI-powered innovation in the region.
