Wayne Hodges

Wayne Hodges brings extensive experience in innovation, commercialization, economic development and incubation management to Pendleton clients. Hodges is Vice President Emeritus of the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology.

At Georgia Tech, he was responsible for a comprehensive set of services that help industry, entrepreneurs, communities, and economic developers become more competitive through the application of science, technology, and innovation.

Hodges established and led the ATDC Seed Fund that invests in Georgia-based entrepreneurial businesses pursuing innovation in bioscience and advanced technology. And he initiated the formation of VentureLab at Georgia Tech, which has invested more than $50 million in the technology transfer program that remains a model initiative for other U.S. and international universities.

Hodges led the formation of the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), a non-profit established to commercialize and develop medical devices in the areas of cardiology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and health information technology. He served as president of the Georgia Advanced Technology Ventures (GATV), a 501c3 organization created to support the formation of Georgia Tech’s Technology Square and Technology Enterprise Park, which remains an international model for innovation.

Hodges also served as Deputy Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, where he managed the State’s domestic and international marketing and business location services.

Prior to joining Georgia Tech in 1970, Hodges was employed by the Kentucky Department of Commerce and served as director of the Madisonville, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Hodges and his wife Jan have three sons and four grandchildren.
